About us
Sarah

Hi, I’m Sarah one half of S2 – a nickname given to us by a La Jolla shopkeeper (my husband Steve being the other half)
Travelling and blogging has come a little later in life for me – don’t get me wrong I have been lucky to have lots of amazing holidays but I wasn’t a gap year traveller or someone who sought to see the world in her 20’s, I was more of a planner, a ‘we will do that in the future’ kind of girl. But life has a way of changing that plan you always had and after becoming widowed at 39 with two young boys, I realised just how precious and unpredictable life really is. Now, I’m all about making memories, saying “yes” to adventures, and collecting moments rather than things.
These days, you’ll usually find me with my incredible Chapter 2, my husband Steve, and our family, chasing the next adventure. We don’t really mind where it takes us—whether it’s watching the sunset into the sea, standing on top of a mountain, getting lost in a new city, or finding a hidden beach. If there’s a view to see, a trail to hike, a gondola to ride, or a local coffee shop to to start our day in, we’re in!
From sunsets to summits, beaches to mountain peaks, we’re on a mission to see as much of this amazing world as we can—one unforgettable adventure at a time. Because life isn’t about waiting for the perfect moment… it’s about making every moment count.
Steve

Hi, I’m Steve, the other half of S2.
Over the years I’ve been lucky enough to travel extensively, although most of it was through my previous job. That meant visiting lots of different places, including some you probably wouldn’t think of as holiday destinations. The downside was that I often only got to see the inside of hotels or factories, usually on my own.
When I met Sarah, I quickly realised I never wanted to travel without her again. She has such an amazing outlook on life, and together we’re determined to squeeze in as much travel and as many adventures as we can. We’ve already been lucky enough to see some incredible places, and thanks to Sarah’s talent for planning and researching, we’re usually on the go from morning until night—and I absolutely love every minute of it.
Someone once asked me, “Do you work to live, or live to work?” I’m definitely in the work-to-live camp. After all, as the saying goes, no one reaches the end of their life wishing they’d spent more time at work. I’d much rather fill mine with experiences, adventures, and memories with Sarah by my side.
We hope our adventures inspire you to explore somewhere new, whether it’s a well-known destination or somewhere completely unexpected.
